# Tinder brand applications | design study

This is a portfolio application study for Tinder. It applies a recognizable public identity to practical communication templates and a single campaign family. It is not a new Tinder identity, an official brand guide, or evidence that Madison created the Tinder logo, typography, or 2026 rebrand. The portfolio role is **Web design**.

## Identity source and what is retained

- Official current logo and flame artwork: [Tinder Newsroom assets](https://www.tinderpressroom.com/logos). The newsroom supplies red, white, off-white, and black PNG versions. This package does not redistribute or redraw a master logo. Use a Tinder-approved master from that source or the client for any published lockup.
- Current web reference: [tinder.com](https://tinder.com/), reviewed 2026-09-23. The live page uses an immediate app/account choice, feature discovery, safety information, FAQs, and a repeated download action. It does not establish the date or scope of Madison's contribution.
- Current visual identity context: [PORTO ROCHA's July 2026 studio update](https://www.portorocha.com/) credits its team with the recent wordmark and type refresh. This kit does not attribute that work to Madison.
- Rights: [Tinder's intellectual property terms](https://tinder.com/intellectual-property/intl/en-GB/) say Tinder marks require authorization. Public newsroom downloads are source material, not proof of reuse permission.

## Application choices

The red, ivory, ink, and blush values in `colors.json` and `tokens.css` are **study colors**, chosen for these files. They are not published Tinder palette values. The public [Obsidian design-system article](https://www.lifeattinder.com/blog/building-obsidian-tinders-design-system) describes internal color and font tokens without releasing numeric values or a named current font. These templates use Georgia and Arial system fallbacks. They do not distribute a proprietary font. Plain-text `Tinder` labels within the templates are editable copy, not logo exports.

The core visual device is a sequence of rounded editorial frames. It suggests the movement from curiosity to first action without imitating the app interface or inventing user profiles. The work keeps each communication simple enough for its setting: email remains text-first, stationery has usable fields, slides have reusable content slots, social formats have readable safe areas, and outdoor copy stays short.

## Campaign study: “Where could this go?”

Audience situation: someone curious about meeting people but unsure what first step to take. The campaign introduces a true next step through a four-part journey: **curiosity → feature discovery → safety → app handoff**. The supporting facts are the live site's Double Date, Astrology Mode, Music Mode, and safety controls (including block, unmatch, and report). Its CTA goes to the verified destination `https://tinder.com/`.

- Postcard: a quick curiosity hook on the front; features, safety, and destination on the back.
- Desk leave-behind: a small two-sided takeaway intended for a staffed event table or counter. It substitutes for a door hanger because a dating service has no natural household-door distribution context, and this location gives the piece a legitimate point of encounter.
- Folded mailer: a six-panel concept that moves from question to features, safety, then the next step. It is a separate piece from the postcard.
- Billboard: one short message and a readable website address. No QR code or long-form claims.

This creative was reviewed for specificity, clarity, truthful support, recognizable brand context, and a useful destination. Effectiveness was not measured.

## File use

| File | Use |
| --- | --- |
| `signature.html`, `signature.txt` | General editable HTML and plain-text signature with verified website only. |
| `signature-staff.html` | Staff template with fields for a real employee's approved name, role, and contact details. |
| `stationery.html` | Business card, letterhead, proposal/quote, invoice, and one-page overview concepts. |
| `presentation.html` | Four editable 16:9 title, content, evidence, and closing layouts. |
| `social-square.svg`, `social-story.svg`, `social-cover.svg`, `avatar.svg` | Editable vector application studies at 1080×1080, 1080×1920, 1500×500, and 512×512. |
| `campaign.html` | Postcard, desk leave-behind, folded mailer, and billboard review layouts. |
| `colors.json`, `tokens.css` | Shared application-study palette and type roles. |

Open the HTML files in a browser for review. Edit bracketed fields before actual use. The SVGs are editable artwork and review exports. For the email signature, copy the table markup into the intended email client after filling the approved staff details, then test in that client, including mobile and dark mode. No staff member, email address, phone number, payment terms, tax ID, or physical address was supplied, so none is asserted here.

## Production status and next inputs

These are **editable concepts and browser-review artwork**, not vendor-approved print, media, or mailing files. No printing, postage, distribution, ad placement, signature installation, or social publishing has occurred. Before production, obtain the approved Tinder mark files and use rights, verified staff/company and commercial details, actual print or billboard vendor specifications, and platform-specific placement checks. Re-export final artwork after replacing placeholders and confirm the selected vendor's dimensions, safe areas, color profile, dieline, folds, and postal requirements where applicable.
